The 2025 Hongqi E-HS9 positions itself as one of China’s notable luxury electric SUVs, combining a large exterior presence with a spacious cabin, advanced equipment and two electric powertrain options.

The SUV is available in the Saudi market in several grades, with equipment, performance and electric range varying according to the version.

Exterior Design

The Hongqi E-HS9 adopts a design that combines luxury with a modern character, featuring a prominent front end and LED headlights and taillights that give the SUV a distinctive road presence.

The hood features pronounced lines that add a dynamic touch, while flowing lines run along the sides of the body. The vehicle is equipped with electrically folding side mirrors with integrated welcome lighting, as well as hidden door handles that contribute to its streamlined appearance.

The doors also feature an electromagnetic opening system, while the panoramic sunroof adds to the sense of space inside the cabin.

The SUV rides on 21-inch aluminum wheels and features privacy glass for the rear section, along with a powered tailgate equipped with a height memory function.

The E-HS9 measures 5,209 mm in length, 2,010 mm in width and 1,731 mm in height, with a 3,110 mm wheelbase, providing a spacious interior suited to the vehicle’s large dimensions.

Available exterior colors include white, black, gray, red and blue.

Interior and Equipment

The E-HS9 uses its large dimensions to provide three rows of seating, with six- or seven-seat configurations depending on the grade.

The seats are available with leather or premium Nappa leather upholstery. Front and second-row seats can feature heating, while higher grades add ventilation and massage functions.

The multifunction steering wheel is leather-wrapped and can be electrically adjusted. The cabin also offers electrically adjustable seats and four-way lumbar support.

Ambient lighting adds to the premium atmosphere, while technology features include a wireless smartphone charger, a 16.2-inch digital instrument display and a central screen of the same size.

The vehicle comes with an eight-speaker audio system, while higher grades can be equipped with a 12-speaker system.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The Hongqi E-HS9 offers a comprehensive range of safety and driver-assistance systems, with some features varying by grade.

Equipment includes up to eight airbags, anti-lock braking with electronic brakeforce distribution, adaptive cruise control and front and rear collision warning systems.

The SUV is also available with front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assistance, as well as a driver-attention monitoring system.

A 360-degree surround-view camera and an automatic parking system are also available, making it easier to maneuver the vehicle, particularly in tight spaces.

Powertrains and Performance

The 2025 Hongqi E-HS9 uses a fully electric powertrain with two electric motors, with output, battery capacity and range varying by version.

The first configuration produces 429 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, paired with an 84-kWh battery and offering an electric range of up to 380 km according to the stated figures.

The more powerful version produces 543 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, using a 99-kWh battery and providing an electric range of approximately 441 km on a full charge.

Both versions feature all-wheel drive and a single-speed transmission, delivering the immediate torque response characteristic of large electric vehicles.

Price in Saudi Arabia

The 2025 Hongqi E-HS9 is available in Saudi Arabia through Global Auto Mall for Luxury Cars, with prices starting at approximately SAR 375,300, depending on the grade and equipment.

Verdict

The Hongqi E-HS9 combines large dimensions, a spacious cabin, premium equipment and an all-electric powertrain. The availability of different power and battery configurations gives buyers greater choice, while the SUV focuses strongly on comfort, equipment and luxury rather than purely sporty driving characteristics.
